Button, Button.....Whose got the Button?

You guessed it. Bailee and I went to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".
I liked it.
It had a good message. It was Long. 2 hours and 56 minutes. So sustenance is a must.
Popcorn, Diet coke and chocolate.
Tissues might be necessary if you are like me in anyway.
Bailee didn't need them.
I always tease her about being cold hearted.
She tells me she feels things too.
She also likes to tell me her tear ducts are NOT connected to her feelings.

Lincoln, Benjamin and Brooklyn are in St. George so we had a girls night......
Well plus Andrew. Poor guy we are always dragging him to girlish chickish flicks.
He was a good sport.
He liked it too.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is enjoying their time off.
I know I am.
Tomorrow the Christmas tree must come down I'm afraid.
Sad. I love turning off all house lights and just sitting in the room with the Christmas lights.
I will miss it until next year.

Bragging Rights

Every once in a while, or every day if we're lucky...
We realize how blessed we are.
I am blessed with 3 beautiful, talented, loving,
mostly obedient and fun Children.
They bring so much joy into my life.
It is fun to talk with them about life,
Play with them for fun,
Teach them important things,
and be a family.
I should also mention that I am lucky to have a wonderful husband as well.
Today is Sunday and a day we sometimes reflect and remember on what is important.
My family is the most important thing to me,
besides my relationship with my savior.
I am grateful for my blessings. For my family.
For the gospel and the opportunities to share and serve.
At this time of year I am especially grateful for the Savior,
his birth, his life and ministry,
his atonement and his sacrifice.
Let us all take a moment to be grateful and feel the saviors love in our life.

P.S. I Love You....

Have you seen this movie?

Torture I tell you, pure torture.

I saw it in the theatres with one of my best girlfriends.....cried the whole time. No, SOBBED the whole time. Seriously like from the first 5 minues to the end. (I did like it though)

Due to this traumatic experience I swore never to watch it again. Well, now it is Bailee's favorite movie. So she is begging me continually to watch it with her. No! No! No!

It wont be as sad because you know what to expect, she tells me. So I cave last night and sit down with her. You guessed it CRYING the whole time. (at least not sobbing, improvement)

Come on! Bring a little joy. Tis the season after all. I hope she doesn't expect a repeat performance, it aint ganna happen!!

"Wreaths Across America"

What started in 1992 with a trailer load of wreaths decorated by volunteers, has now become a way for people to honor and remember fallen soldiers, as well as honor those service men and women who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is a way to teach about freedom and how we obtain it and how it is kept. Today our family (Benjamin specifically) participated in this project.

This morning we arrived at the Camp Williams Cemetery during a horizontal snowstorm to participate in the days events. It started with a program full of speakers and some musical numbers by a children's choir. One song that touched me was "God Bless America". It was beautiful and of course brought tears to my eyes. I am a very patriotic person and almost anything patriotic brings on the water.

It was a new and great way to spend a Saturday morning. Wreaths across America takes place today nationwide. After the program, Benjamin (cadet Paxman) and other members of the Utah Wing Civil Air Patrol placed wreaths on the graves of fallen soldiers. Civilians or family members of the fallen soldier were allowed to place a wreath if they chose. All that was asked, is that after you placed the wreath, you wrote the name of the fallen soldier who is buried there down, went home and looked him up on the Internet and took a moment to remember him and his sacrifice for our country.


A flag for each branch of the United States Military was represented during the program. During which time members in the audience with family serving or having served in that branch stood to honor that flag.
Benjamin held the flag representing the Coast Guard.

It was a very patriotic and memorable moment for our family to watch our 15 year old son salute a fallen soldier who sacrificed his life for the country in which we live.


"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."
