I decided since I have turned a new age...I should have a new look.
What do you think? There were so many to choose from...
The spring look...
The Americana look...
The romantic...
The torn...
many more...
I chose ARGYLE~a remnant of my High School Days. ;)
It's been a busy week at our house;
1~ The struggle to end the quarter with acceptable grades,
~accomplished. WHEW!!
2~ The tough decision on whether or not to make a slight job change,
~decision made and it feels right. No Change.
3~ Sending Bailee to Disneyland on Choir tour,
~trip successful and enjoyable.
4~ 2009-2010 School Year MDT auditions for Bailee,
~mission accomplished...Her name appeared on the list.
5~ Brooklyn auditioned for her first musical/revue,
~mission accomplished for her too...Her name on the list. :)
She is so excited.
6~ Pure relaxation for Benjamin,
~ he informs me this is just beginning
with a two week school break.
8~ Catch up on piles of laundry.
~ Done. Of course I've already said..I hate Laundry.
9~ The beginning of Spring Break for me, Brooklyn and Benjamin,
~ Joy! Pure Joy. 2 week break. Now we need sun.
10~ Getting the Cat to walk pain free,
~ not there yet, but were making progress..
at the cost of $110.00. Ugh.
It doesn't seem like a lot. But the stress for mom was big.
Now if we could just get rid of this snow.
Where did Spring go?
I want to see SUN!

What "Hill"?!!
Yes! It's true!
March 22nd I turned the big 40!
But really where did this term over the hill come from?
I'm not over anything.
I'm taking a LONG stroll along the top.
It was really a week long celebration...
beginning Tuesday.
Tuesday found me to dinner at Chili's
with the Paxman sisters.
Eva and I have birthdays two days apart.
Both of us turning 40.
It was fun to visit and be together.
Then off we went to see Bride Wars
at the dollar theatre.
Loved it, laughed and cried of course. ;)
Wednesday found me at bowling...
To my surprise when I arrived at bowling,
There were black balloons flying high,
with this "Over the Hill" Balloon.
They were accompanied by two great friends,
Covered head to toe in BLACK! pfff.
At least they were bearing gifts
and CAKE!!
In all honesty it was super sweet and made my day.
Friday found me in Provo
having lunch and a movie with my parents.
Lunch at my favorite "Red Robin"
It was fun to visit with the parentals
and spend time with them too.
Love them so much for the last 40 years
of support and love they have freely given.
This is a cup made specially for me...
by Brooklyn.
She was so excited to give it to me.
I Love it!
with some of my high school buddies.
Natalie and Shelly.
"Red Robin" again.
It is my favorite.
Here I was gifted with this....
We are after all each of us turning 40 this year.
I will pass it along as well.
(new candy of course)
That night my little family took me to dinner...
Sizzler.
We all love it and they have something for everyone.
Finally the day.
Sunday found me at home with my family
for the morning.
Where I went on a scavenger hunt for a variety
of fun things.
Now if you must know I have been Begging
my husband for a blower for years.
Every holiday appropriate...
Christmas
Birthday
Mothers Day
I tell him "I really want a blower"
to my dismay NOT!!
He does not think it a good gift for his wife.
I really want one. If you know me at all
you know I enjoy yard work.
Except the sweeping!
I want a blower.
And so it finally was...
He succumbed and bought me a blower.
The big bonus, it runs off his drill battery.
It is powerful and light weight.
No cord, No motor, No gas.
I can't wait to blow.
Bring on spring.
Our whole family together
attending the Draper Temple dedication.
It was a great birthday.
And your only as old as you feel/act.
I will be thirtysomething
FOREVER!!
I've decided.

"Straight Superiors"
I am noticing that my blog seems to revolve around the children.
At least what the children seem to be doing.
This must be because for the most part...
as mothers...
our lives revolve around our children.
Not a bad thing at all.
Time enough for self before and after raising children.
So sticking to the theme. I am going to brag about one of mine.
Bailee competed in Dramatic Monologue at the region level today.
She qualified to continue on to state. Wahoo!!
Better than that, she won a medal for "Straight Superiors"!!
She had to perform her monologue 3 different times,
in front of 3 different judges,
with 3 different groups of other competitors.
All 3 judges gave her a superior rating.
Choices, Superior, Excellent, Good and Fair.
Each judge rated them in nine areas, this is a total of 27.
24 out of her 27 were superior. Her final ratings from each judge...
Superior.
So given the past week we have had...It was a Superior Day.
I promise a post all about me...
next time.
Since I will be 40 Sunday.

"Permit" me..
We have a new driver!!
That's right Ben passed his written exam
yesterday March 9, 2009.
Exactly one month after his b-day.
He scored 84%, which he now lords over Bailee
who only scored 82%!! Bwahaahaa!
He is now an official PERMIT holder.
With what he calls a picture that makes him look..
HIGH!
This is the car he will drive. NOT!!
In his dreams. This is the car he wishes was his.
If he is lucky he will drive the car you see the rear of.
LOL!!
Home from work, which is Riverton Elementary.
A bit heavy on the gas, and a bit heavy on the brake.
Only the first time he accelerated and braked.
Then he did awesome.
He is a natural.
Well....
After the seat is put as far forward as it goes.
The steering wheel lowered,
to allow him to see over the dash.
He will grow, we have faith. ;)
Are now floods.
Growth, in evidence.
Bring on the inches.

Prom-e-nade
1. a leisurely walk taken for pleasure, display, etc.
2. a public place for walking 3. a ball or dance
Junior Prom 2009
"Time Of My Life"
Don't they look good, all dressed up in their finery?!
The pictures really don't do them justice.
This wasn't given without a little laughter.
We have learned a few things about prom.
First: Never and I mean NEVER
get a bang trim the night before the
"biggest dance of your High School Life"
(Direct Quote)
Bailee was needing a tiny bang trim,
so a quick trip to supercuts was in order
because she only had like 15 minutes free
the night before.
DISASTER!! According to Bailee.
I have to agree the lady did a whack job!
This led to a lot of tears and frustration.
What to do?
Never go to supercuts again!!
When we went to get the updo,
she tried to fix the bangs.
They really are too short to do anything with.
So when we arrived at Darla's to get ready ,
It was Meagan to the rescue.
A twist to match the rest of her hair and
Walla, a darling hairdo that looked cute.
No More Tears.
Now she just has to wait for them to grow out...
Second: It's all about the dress!
A girl is a princess in just the right dress.
We had a very successful dress experience,
and when you can find just the right dress...
for just the right price...
Every body's happy...Including DAD!! :)
Third: They still really do the "Promenade"
This is when all the Juniors get to
be announced and walk down the grand staircase
with their date in tow.
Like an old fashioned coming out.
You arrive at the top of the stairs,
Your name is announced,
and you take a leisurely stroll to the bottom.
Smile, it is your moment,
and this is the "Time of your Life"!

Kitty on Drugs!!
How I ended up being the owner of Kitty is still a blur.
It went something like this:
Brooklyn: Please daddy please can I have a kitty?
(big eyes, smiles and hugs)
Daddy: I don't know. We already have a dog.
Brooklyn: But it's not MY dog. I really want a kitty. To love and that will always love me.
Brooklyn: I will pay for it with my own money and take care of it all by myself.
Sucker Daddy: Well okay lets go look at some.
One adoption later....
One kitty collar....
One Kitty bed....
One pink kitty dish....
Many kitty toys....
One litter box....
Walla.... Kitty owners!
Now this is not the end of the story.
Kitty's tend to sharpen their claws on a variety of objects...
Door casings
My precious reading chair
My couch
Brooklyn's comforter
More door casings
So off to the vet for a declaw.
Hence a kitty on DRUGS!!
It started with a post surgical fentanol patch,
which she proceeded to lick off and get extremely high.
This constituted an ace wrap around her stomach
to hid said patch, to prevent overdose.
This led to a kitty who wouldn't walk regularly.
Off to an appointment with the vet again.
Oral narcotics were in order.
1 tiny pill twice a day.
Drugged out psycho kitty.
She drags herself along the floor, rolling around, head lolling.
A look of pure joy and delusion on her kitty face.
Hmmm. Can humans take kitty narcotics. ;)
Joking.
This is the kitty during a semi aware state, prior to second little pill of the day.
Startled is what she is.
Worth it for normal door casings again.
Drug addicts in the house are not an option.
Plus I feel like a kitty sitter.
Whose pet is this..?!
