MISERY

Here would be a picture posted by me of me of what Misery looks like...
But it was to pathetic to share with the public!

Let me just say this...
Sinus Surgery=
No air, I mean nada, zip, nil, none, not even a wisp..
getting through my noggin. =
Pure Freaking Misery, for 5 days!

I don't mean to be a whiner...
as I am sure Tomorrow
I will be feeling SO SO SO good.
Just to blow my nose.
I know TMI!

So I guess 5 days of misery
will be totally worth it
If after tomorrow I have No more Sinus Migraines
Breathe freely every night
and no more drainage down my throat.
It will be Pure JOY!

Red Rock

I love the contrast of the Red Rock visible in Southern Utah.
What a beautiful state we live in.
I think I need this in my sights
just for a few days.

Along with a little family R&R.
Catch you later.

Loose Change

Today while making a quick stop through a local drive through..
The car in front of me dropped some change
while paying for her purchase.
Of course, not getting out and retrieving the change
she just reached over into what I'm assuming was her wallet
and got some more.
Loose change, lying on the pavement
right outside the drive through window.

I started to wonder...
how many times a day do you think this happens?
At how many different drive through establishments?

So here I give you...
a part time job for your unemployed teenager.
Traveling from place to place
every evening
retrieving the loose change that is sure to be found.
Might not make him rich...
but would give him/her some loose change. ;)

On a serious note..
I mentioned to the worker of said establishment
I'll bet at the end of the day you could gather a few bucks
worth of loose change from down there. (indicating the pavement)
Her reply..
We actually see people walk through the drive through
gathering the loose change.
Go figure.

"Lovers, Dreamers and Me"

Saint Valentine's Day, commonly shortened to Valentine's Day, is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").

Valentines Day
seems to always be about
Love...
But I say it's more...
It's about Love,
Friendship,
and Companionship.
I don't think Valentines Day
should be only for "Lovers"
but for friends who care about each other..
Parents love to children..
A good friend..
Anyone you have caring thoughts for.
For "Dreamers"
Those who have not yet found love
But know it is around the corner waiting for them..
For me...
It's about all of the above.
and the chocolate. ;)
So I give you.. images of Valentines day.

Me and My sweetheart.
(in a not so flattering photo...but shows the love, lol)

Flowers....
Flowers are love's truest language.- Park Benjamin

“We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
~Author Unknown

Conversation Hearts...
Cute but I really don't like them.
They taste like chalk.
They remind me of the days
when we delivered Valentines
to friends by doorbell ditching.
That was fun.

There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with Chocolate.
~Linda Grayson

For me...
I personally love chocolate for Valentines Day.
Chocolate covered Strawberries are the best.
And my Sweetie always remembers...

Happy Valentines Day to all my friends.
Enjoy it any way you can..

P.S. This blog post had severe technical difficulties...So the layout...yea messed up.

On the Radio

I like B98.7 radio.
I listen to it daily
whenever I'm not listening to my i-pod.
I like the Radio contests
the only one I ever play or try to play
My favorite
"THE SECRET SOUND"
Here is how it works:
Todd chooses a sound that is found in most households
he then records the sound
B98.7 plays the sound at 8:10 a.m., 1:10 and 4:10.
Be the 20th caller
guess the sound correctly
and win!!
Every time someone guesses incorrectly
the pot goes up $98.00
Easy peasy right?
NOT!
They have this contest about 1-2 a year.
last time they had it
I just knew I knew the sound...
I tried calling
(I typically only listen in morning on the way to school)
I never ever ever got in.
Soon the prize money started getting huge
like in the 7-8,000.00 range.
Todd started giving clues
one a day.
He was giving clues that fit my guess.
He was giving my guess away!!
I had not even had the chance to guess it yet.
My dialing became more frantic...
and still no luck getting through.
I just knew with these clues someone was going to guess.
And they did!
Some random idiot...
who needed clues...
guessed my answer...
the one I had known forever.
Breaking apart a garlic clove.
And he won!! He won over 8,000.00
URGH!!
So now...
"The Secret Sound" is back.
again, I think I know the sound.
The prize money is in the $2,000.00 range and growing.
Yesterday as Brooklyn was doing homework at 4:10
she yells "mom the secret sound is on"
I go into her room
and decide I will try calling
(remember I don't usually play late in the day)
Dial once....busy
Redial....busy
Redial....busy
Redial....RING!!
Seriously!! Brooklyn and I are ecstatic.
Here is my chance to make my guess.
Which I feel really strongly about.

"Hello, B98.7 you are my 16th caller"
"TRY AGAIN"
URGH! URGH!
He was after the 20th caller!!
After years of listening to this game...
I FINALLY get my phone to ring
and...
I am 4 callers off!
Seriously?!?!
I just know my guess is correct...
I will persevere and keep trying...
Someday I will get a chance to guess...
Hopefully, it is a time I do indeed know the correct sound.

"Big Stud"

Happy 17th Birthday Benjamin
"Big Stud"
Benjamin is growing up.
Literally.
This brings us much much joy.
He is now officially as tall as me.
I am glad to say in the next few months
he is bound to pass me right up.
He is a fun young man to have around
sweet to his sisters
kind to others
works hard
funny
and handsome too.
We are blessed to have him in our family.
Here are a few pictures of the last few months....
Hiking at Lisa Falls
Ben in full fantasy make-up
Shooting his with his buddies

A few of his good friends.
It seems absolutely crazy...
crazy...
that two years from now
he will be leaving to serve a full time mission.
~heavy sigh~
A moment we look forward to
and dread.
He has grown up so fast.
Sometimes I wish time could slow down
or even stand still
just for a moment.
Have a great birthday Benjamin.
I love you!

Friend Making Monday, Super Bowl?

I really am enjoying this "Friend Making Monday" thing.
It gives me something to post about
without me having to think too much.
So if your wanting to link up and join Friend Making Monday
go here: http://www.alltheweigh.com/

Here's this week's question:
Did you watch the Superbowl? If so, did you enjoy it? If not, what did you do instead?

I did NOT watch the Super Bowl this year.
To me the Super Bowl is not so much about the football.
It's about the social event.
The party, the friends, the family and the food.
My sweetheart was working...
so no party for us.
It was just me and the kids.
My teenage son didn't really like either team
so didn't want to invest the time to watch.

So...while the kids watched a movie
I read a book.
Not really complaining at all.
I love a good book.

I did, however, miss the commercials.
The friends, the family and the food.
So here's to a super bowl party next year.
And I did, however, tune in immediately following the Super Bowl
to catch the newest episode of Glee.
I wasn't disappointed.

Indecision...

Life can be full of Indecision...
Big things to decide
small things to decide
So many decisions in life..
I could make a list
But I wont, it could probably go on forever.
My most recent bout of indecision...
Is this:

If your a semi frequent visitor of my blog
you are probably noticing
my round of background changes...
sorry.

I loved my Jane Austen books.
But, I felt the need for change.
So I have been trying a few on for size.
I think I have tried 4 in two days. ;)
This one seems to be a keeper.

I'm into shabby.
So hopefully this particular indecisive moment
IS OVER!
