FMM

FMM: Yes or No?

Do you use coupons? Yes. I started doing Grocery Smarts about a year ago.  I am not totally dedicated but I have made up the cost of my Newspaper by just doing the twice a year sale at Smiths.  When coupons are worth double their face value.  I wish I was more dedicated I think I could save a lot more money.

Do you like football? I don't dislike it.  I'll watch a few games here and there.  I prefer Basketball.

Are you in a relationship? Happily Married it will be 24 years in November.

Is your phone always within arm’s reach? I pretty much always have it in my pocket or sitting very near by.

Do you like thunderstorms? I LOVE them!

Can you cook? Yes, but I'm not this amazing chef by any means.  I can follow a recipe.

Are you – or have you – lost weight? No, but I need to. Finding the motivation is the hardest part.  My hubby and I are going on a cruise in March....I'd love to drop 25lbs by then.  Help?

Do you know how to read a map? I am an amazing  navigator!! ;)  I didn't get us lost once when we had our trip to Europe.  D.C. was a little different story.  We used the GPS.

Do you wear makeup? Nope. Used to a little.

Do you read regularly? Like an addict.

Are you publicly affectionate?  I will hold my husbands hand or give a hug.

Do you like picnics? Yes.

Do you have a/c? Yes! I could not live without it.

Have you ever been out of the country? Yes! I have been to England, France Canada and Mexico.  This year I am going on a Caribbean Cruise and hopefully Italy.

Do you know how to ride a bicycle? Yes, it's actually something I enjoy doing.  I need to dust mine off and take it out.

Okay, now it’s your turn to answer the questions! And these are easy, right? Don’t forget to if you want to link up go here! And have a happy Monday! =)

FMM, Why do you blog?

Why do you blog?

I first started blogging July 28, 2008.  A dear dear friend of mine was suffering from Pancreatic cancer and her family started the blog "Cancer Sucks" to keep friends and family informed of her treatment and day to day happenings.  I began reading this blog and leaving memories I had of this dear family in the comment section.  Other friends who also read the blog would see my comments and look to my profile so they could read my blog.  Of which, I didn't have one.  I had many ask me why I didn't have a blog.

A blog?  I didn't even know what it was, or how to make one work.  But, feeling a little peer pressure I decided to start my own blog.  My teenager started one shortly after me.  I love that she does this because it keeps me updated while she is away at college.  So for me it all began with reading one blog.

My blog really contains and always has, my random thoughts, family happenings, milestone events, opinions and any other thing I choose.  It's a place for me to express my freedom of speech.  At times maybe even my soap box.  But, I love it!!  It has become a place where my life is chronicled.  Now it's not a journal, because journals would be much more in depth.  It's just a place for free expression.

I have also become a pretty avid blog reader.  I have my list.  I follow it.  I enjoy it.
To me this is all reason enough.

So whether anyone reads or not.....I blog for my own self fulfillment.

You know the drill.  If you want to participate go here

Friend Making Monday, The Grocery Store

FMM: The Grocery Store

1. Do you make a list when you go grocery shopping? Do you stick to it? I ALWAYS make a list and it's based of a menu. I do stick to it for the most part. Sometimes I see something I didn't think of and throw it in.
2. Do you buy more groceries when you're hungry? I have been known to throw in a few extra snack type foods when I am hungry.
3. Coupons. Use 'em? I do get 3 Sunday papers and follow the Grocery Smarts website. I am not faithful at it. Wish I was because I see the savings so many people make. However, twice a year Smith's doubles the coupon value and I always shop there then. I save a LOT of money. For example my groceries came to approx. 485.00, I paid approx 150.00 So I feel like just doing that twice a year pays for my Newspaper. :)
4. Have you ever complained to the manager of your grocery store? No. Never really had a reason to.
5. Do you like to buy groceries at huge chain stores like Wal-Mart and Target? Or do you shop exclusively at food stores? I shop Wal-Mart the most regularly. I like being able to get everything at one stop. Plus you really can't beat their everyday prices. I don't buy meat, milk or cheese there I get these items at Costco or Petersons. And I get most of my produce from Bountiful Baskets.
6. How much time do you spend reading labels in the grocery store? Some, but not an excessive amount. I tend to buy a lot of the same brands and products so I already know what I am getting.
7. Do you push your own grocery cart to the car and return it? No matter where I shop I push my own cart. I return it AlWAYS!! I hate stray carts laying around. It only takes a few extra minutes to return it.
8. What is the one food item you always buy at the grocery store that you must have in the kitchen? 45 calorie Whole Grain bread and Bagel Thins.
9. Do you enjoy grocery shopping? I hate it!! I hate having to come up with new menu items and making the menu. Well, I actually hate putting the groceries more.
10. How often do you shop for groceries? I grocery shop every two weeks. I do make a trip to the local grocery store for milk on the one week mark.
You know what to do. If you want to participate go here http://www.alltheweigh.com/and link up. Have a happy Monday.

Every Day Things

FMM: Every Day Things.

1) What is your favorite part of an average day? My favorite part of the day is early evening. It's when most of the family is home and we can spend time catching up on what everyone has done that day.
2) Is there one food that you eat every single day? If so, what is it? There isn't really one single food I eat every day. I guess the only thing I ingest every day would be water.
3) Are you an early bird, or do you prefer to sleep in late? I definitely like to sleep in a little. I would love to sleep until at least 7:30 or past. But, being that I help get my youngest off to school I get up early. Now when I do want to sleep in past 7:30, my internal clock wont let me. :/
4) Share one thing that you're looking forward to doing this week. I'm excited to spend some time with my youngest who is on spring break. We have movies planned. Hop and Soul Surfer for starters. :)
5) What's for dinner this evening? I'm thinking it might be FFY. (fend for yourself) My husband is working tonight and I ate a very late lunch with my College Student at In and Out. (my first time there) So everyone else is going to be having something quick or leftover.

FMM, giving the boys a chance.

Last week Kenz at http://www.alltheweigh.com/ was told that her surveys are a little girly so the few boys that read her blog don't feel they can participate. So a friend of hers Josh, came up with the questions for this weeks FMM. Same concept. Go out to her blog and link up if your interested.
FMM: Giving the Boys A Chance

1. Who is your pick for the Final Four?
I will go out on a limb and pick a ringer....someone not likely to win but a team I like, BYU!! They do have the BEST point guard in Jimmer.

2. What is your favorite workout/fitness activity?
I love speed walking with my friends. I call it speed, but in reality it's probably not fast enough. I enjoy the social time with friends while getting in a little exercise.

3. Do you have a favorite healthy snack? Something that REALLY hits the spot?
I love cantaloupe, strawberries and red grapes all cut up and tossed together in a bowl. If not the season I love a good CRISP apple.

4. What is your dream car?
My dream car is not really that exciting...but I would love a Toyota Avalon. I love them, roomy and sleek. I'm not really into fancy super expensive cars. ;)

5. Have you set any goals for yourself this month? What are they?
My goal for the month of April is to start a regular exercise regime. I have been waiting for my sinus surgery and healing so I could breathe freely. I'm nearly ready now. Bring on the pain. :/

When you're done posting, take a few minutes to say hi to Josh at http://youhaveablog.blogspot.com and leave him some love.

Friend Making Monday

FMM: We Heart Surveys!

1) What's your favorite brand of make-up? Are you loyal to one brand? I don’t really wear a lot of make-up. Honestly….hardly EVER. When I do I wear is Clinique. I like it because it doesn’t make my eyes itch..
2) What is the last thing you drank? A fountain Diet Coke….I really am cutting back, but had a headache and it usually helps.

3) What's your favorite Girl Scout cookie? Not even a choice for me… THIN MINTS!! I love them frozen too.
4) French Fries or Onion Rings? French Fries. Although, sometimes a good onion ring really hits the spot.

5) Share something you've done in the last week that makes you proud of yourself. Hmmmm…this is harder. I raised my bowling average. I also still have not missed one night of prayer since Jan 1st.
6) What is your favorite inexpensive indulgence? Movies. I love to see a good movie and have popcorn with it.
7) Are you currently reading a book? If so, which one? I am and it’s called “The Perfect Blend”, book one in the Teashop Series, by Trish Perry. I read A LOT, this is a new type of book for me, it’s a Christian Novel. I typically read romance or mystery. I am really enjoying it.
8) Do you prefer to text or talk? Talk for sure. But text has it’s benefits too, like contacting my children during school, or leaving my sweetie a message.
9) Have you ever performed on stage? Does church Road show count? If so yes.
10) Are you more likely to pick truth or dare? In my youth always Truth. I wasn’t very daring. Although in my old age what could I possibly be dared to do that would be so hard.
Now it's your turn to answer the questions! http://www.alltheweigh.com/

Friend Making Monday, Hobbies

Vincent Van Gogh said "The way way to know life is to love many things." And I agree. What we do with our free time can sometimes be the difference between a decent existence and an enjoyable one. So this week's topic is hobbies. http://www.alltheweigh.com/

What do you do to entertain yourself when you have free time?

I read! Mostly romance or mystery, but will try any type of genre once.

I also League Bowl! This is so much fun, I started 10 years ago. I bowl with friends I have had since high school. I bowl once a week and love it! My average started at 108 ten years ago and now is 154. :)

I scrapbook. I used to do it a lot then I decided to try digital scrap booking, I don't love the digital as much. I am thinking to do half and half and see if I can get back into the grove.

I also love traveling and camping. We have traveled a lot of fun exciting places and we enjoy the mountains and deserts that are abundant in Utah.

Friend Making Monday, Super Bowl?

I really am enjoying this "Friend Making Monday" thing.
It gives me something to post about
without me having to think too much.
So if your wanting to link up and join Friend Making Monday
go here: http://www.alltheweigh.com/

Here's this week's question:
Did you watch the Superbowl? If so, did you enjoy it? If not, what did you do instead?

I did NOT watch the Super Bowl this year.
To me the Super Bowl is not so much about the football.
It's about the social event.
The party, the friends, the family and the food.
My sweetheart was working...
so no party for us.
It was just me and the kids.
My teenage son didn't really like either team
so didn't want to invest the time to watch.

So...while the kids watched a movie
I read a book.
Not really complaining at all.
I love a good book.

I did, however, miss the commercials.
The friends, the family and the food.
So here's to a super bowl party next year.
And I did, however, tune in immediately following the Super Bowl
to catch the newest episode of Glee.
I wasn't disappointed.

Friend Making Monday, a short survey

Remember my One Word post from last week...
well it too came from Friend Making Monday
here http://www.alltheweigh.com/
go there and participate if you dare.

I think I just might make it my regular Monday post?.?

A Short Survey

1) What is your favorite household chore? And what is your least favorite? I like mowing the lawn. (does this count as a household chore) I loath laundry, plain and simple...hate it! It is a task that is never done.

2)What is your favorite city? London, it has so much character old and new.

3) Have you found real love yet? Absolutely and I adore him even when he is in a mood. :)

4) What's one thing you eat almost everyday? Some kind of cookie...it's the only thing I can think of.

5) What was your last thought before falling asleep last night? I was hoping I could wake up headache free. Haven't done that for a few days because of this stinkin inversion.

6) What's the worst injury you had as a child? I was about 14 and riding a skateboard, fell off and broke my wrist. I didn't even like skateboards, just trying to impress the boys.

8) Do you tweet? No way, no how. Not ganna happen. ;)

9) List three things you wouldn't want to live without: My family, my beliefs and a home.

10) Hold old were you when you had your first kiss? I was 13 his name was Mike and it was on the fourth of July in the dugout at the baseball field during the fireworks.
