Today was all about Brooklyn and I.
We have been deserted for the weekend. So we decided to make a day of it. We went to see Madagascar 2 (at the dollar theatre) bonus for me. It was the movie of choice for her.
Then we went to lunch out at one of our favorites. The Hungry Bear, for chicken salad sandwiches and homemade deserts. (last night we had dinner at Panda)
Home to work on her Star of the Week poster for next week.
BBQ Hot Dogs and cheesy tots for dinner.
Chick Flick.
Brooklyn sound asleep at 10:00
Me all alone....
Bored
Facebook stalking....
Blog stalking.
Tomorrow is another day. What shall I stalk?
It was a fun day with the munchkin.

It's ALL Gone!!
So, Friday marked a monumental occasion for Brooklyn.
She decided to chop it all off.
Yup the hair...it's all gone.
For weeks she has been whining and complaining
every time it's time to brush the snarls.
Her hair was down past the middle of her back.
So about two weeks ago she says, "Mom, I want my hair cut."
I always take the approach that it's her hair.
So to give her time to be sure, I tell her she has to wait till payday.
No Problem!! But on payday I want it cut.
Payday rolls around and off we go to GreatClips.
"Cut it to my shoulders", she says.
Chop, Chop and all the hair right to the floor.
Of course they always get a little scissor happy.
So we ended up with the chin.
It's darling one her and she feels happy.
NO MORE SNARLS!! ;)
But not in the next one.

To Speak or not to Speak....
This was my mantra for an entire week. Really I had no choice, I had already said yes. You guessed it, the Bishop snagged us to speak in Sacrament Meeting. URGH!! I figure I have fulfilled my quota for like 2 and 1/2 years for sure.
Really he gave us almost a month to prepare mentally and emotionally. I knew my talk topic and had the Conference talk all printed and everything. Did I look at it? NO!
PROCRASTINATE, PROCRASTINATE AND MORE PROCRASTINATION!! Yup that's me. Procrastinator.
So Saturday, the night before said talk, I finally pulled the thing out and read it over. Funny how these things come together.
Kneel in prayer. Beg, Beg, Beg and more begging that the spirit will guide you to say what Heavenly Father would like, and that the spirit will testify. And so it was.
Lincoln was better than I. I'm not ganna lie. He personalized more. I spoke on Sacrament Meeting. He got to speak on Reverence. He took a great approach. Reverence is an action word. He really inspired me to have reverence in my life.
I guess in the end it is all worth it just for the personal growth you receive from studying, pondering and praying about the topic for yourself. Personal witness.

HEADSHOT
I am a proud mom, I admit it.
This comes as a surprise to you, I know.
Nevertheless it is true!
Bailee had "headshots" taken in November at school.
They are for audition purposes etc.
I am so pleased...
I think they turned out beautiful.
Of course, I'm not biased.
You be the judge....
She doesn't have my genes.
I never looked like that.
I'll be honest, I think she looks like that in
Real life too. ;)

Freakin' Sleep DEPRIVATION!!
Sleep: a natural regularly recurring rest of the body, during which there is little or no conscious thought.
Deprivation: to take away from, to keep from having, to separate.
Just in case you needed the definition. I am NOT having the regular recurring rest which I so need and deserve.
You may be asking yourself why this is....or not. I will still vent, it is my blog and I'll vent if I want to.
1 Word Teenagers.
Remember when......you used to go out at night with your friends and your parents told you to wake them when you got home. Well my daughter and son don't have to wake me, I am waiting already AWAKE!! This came from learning that if I went to sleep they just woke me anyway. But it's not just a, "mom I'm home". No! It's a mom I'm home want to hear about my date, etc. and then after getting the 1/2 to 1 hour 411 you can't go back to sleep. You've had just enough to make you feel all bright eyed and bushy tailed. Then it takes another 1/2 to 1 hour to wind down enough to fall asleep for the second time.
This is my life. During Christmas break and on the weekends I am going to bed on the average at 2:00 a.m. Yes you heard me 2:00 A.M. Then up at the crack of dawn to undertake all other tasks required of me.
I AM SLEEP DEPRIVED!!
For crap sakes it's Saturday morning and I am killing time between taking Ben (at 7:00 a.m.) to honor guard and taking Brooklyn to Jr Jazz and making sure Bailee gets her sleepy self out of bed and off to Rehearsal. I should be sleeping.
Well all complaints aside I have always been a night owl, but I'm over the edge, last night I had to stay awake and sit by my daughters phone, (while she slept on the couch nearby) waiting for the friend with benefits to text that he was home. Then only to wake her so she could reply. He drives 30 minutes to see her so when he leaves he is required to report on his safe arrival home. SO to add insult to injury I am not only waiting up for my own teenagers but for the teenagers important friends too. What is a mother to do? The things we do out of love.
TAKE A NAP!! ;)
P.S. and BTW....yes this is what the boyfriend is called now a friend with benefits. Come on!! Is there anything wrong with saying I have a boyfriend. Teenagers these days and their labels or the lack thereof. (you may also be wondering what the benefits are; I am not at liberty to say)

Facebook Frenzy
I am always letting peer pressure get me into things.
* Blogging, to which I am now addicted.
*Now I have a facebook, to which I am learning to use.
It is true. You all know who you are that drew me into the blogging thing. Now my dear friend Valynne convinced me to get a facebook. It is a terrible thing when you have to go to the teenagers for advice. This is what I did in order to get a facebook. The teenager helped me set it up.
But wow lots and lots of people MY AGE have them. I am finding old friends all over the place. Some I will admit I am not quite sure I remember, I have to think about it for a minute. This would be because of the half himers that is setting in as I near the 40 mark.
Luckily all the facebook friends I am finding are either at the same mark or nearing it also. We are getting old!! They probably suffer from the same memory loss. :)
Either way it is fun to find old friends and acquaintances. The joys of the Internet. I'm lovin' it.
