Remakes

I saw this tonight.
Not bad.
I remember the first one.
A girlfriend and I found ourselves
all alone on a Friday night
and decided to catch a flick.
Unfortunately, because we decided so late
our options were limited.
So we found ourselves
watching the adventures of
Gulliver in Liliput.
It really was pretty funny
in a sorta dumb way.
I think the kids will like it.
I figure if you get a laugh
it's worth your time.

Pin Down

It's official
My bowling team won 1st place
in the first half.
This means...
no matter how crappy
or inconsistent
we may bowl from hear on out
We still get to bowl off for 1st place
at the end of the year.
a 50/50 chance of winning it all.
This means more PRIZE MONEY.
The goal is always to win enough
to pay for lunch and the banquet.
Winning first does this and more.
:)
I have been trying to curb
my competitive nature
I really have....;)
but when your sitting in the top 3
it's hard not to want it all.
So after finishing 1st
I can now sit back
relax
and enjoy the rest of the year.
Bowling is a fun way to hang with friends
and have a day out.

Movie Madness

Finally, something to blog about besides hospitals.
Friday night was the last of my birthday groups 40th b-days.
So it was dinner and a movie.
I wasn't going to go because I had just brought Ben home a few hours earlier
but my loving husband ordered me out of the house for a break.
It was a blast!!
We saw "The Proposal"
I LOVED IT!!!
LOVED IT!! LOVED IT!!
I was actually sad when it was over.
I now want to take Bailee to see it...
Buy it for my chick flick collection.
Watch it repeatedly
I love this time of year because so many movies come out.
Next on the list of course...Transformers 2.
I love going to the movies...
with the hubby
the children
girlfriends
anyone really
but never alone.
That has always seemed so sad to me.
So give me your opinion,
did you LOVE IT as much as me?
Check it out and let me know.
IF you need a movie partner for this particular show
I am always available for a repeat. :)
P.S. and by the way...
Ben is doing much better. Our ward is having a special fast for him this coming Sunday.

"Grand Slam"

Yesterday was the "Grand Slam" day at Denny's. Come in and get a free "Grand Slam" breakfast.

Yesterday was also the first day of USBCT testing at ALL local high schools.

What does this mean?

School doesn't start until 10:06 a.m. for all Juniors and Seniors who passed said test their Sophomore year!!

What does this mean?

Can you say a Run On Denny's?! My daughter was involved in this mass exodus to Denny's for Free breakfast, with a few of her friends. It was amazing to me that the teenager would arise before 6:30 a.m. on an official sleep in day, all for free breakfast. But, alas she did.

They waited in line with millions of other area high school teenagers for forever before finally giving up.

Home to the Paxmans house of Pancakes. I luckily was at work. Dad got out all the fixin's and pulled together "Cowboy Grub" and "Waffles". Bailee and her 6 guy friends ate free breakfast after all. The only comments dad had for mom on her arrival home were....

1. Where were the other girls? LOL (Bailee has many friends of the male persuasion, just friends) Often we have a house full with maybe her and one other girl friend. Go figure. Guys don't gossip or backbite. Makes perfect sense to me.

2. Good thing you have a stock of strawberry jam in the freezer. They consumed a Whole Jar! :)

3. They listen to good music. One of the boys threw his ipod onto the docking station in the kitchen and my husband amazingly liked the music selection. "I must know the artist" he said.

Who says parents can't be fun?

Facebook Frenzy

I am always letting peer pressure get me into things.

* Blogging, to which I am now addicted.

*Now I have a facebook, to which I am learning to use.

It is true. You all know who you are that drew me into the blogging thing. Now my dear friend Valynne convinced me to get a facebook. It is a terrible thing when you have to go to the teenagers for advice. This is what I did in order to get a facebook. The teenager helped me set it up.

But wow lots and lots of people MY AGE have them. I am finding old friends all over the place. Some I will admit I am not quite sure I remember, I have to think about it for a minute. This would be because of the half himers that is setting in as I near the 40 mark.

Luckily all the facebook friends I am finding are either at the same mark or nearing it also. We are getting old!! They probably suffer from the same memory loss. :)

Either way it is fun to find old friends and acquaintances. The joys of the Internet. I'm lovin' it.
