It's true!!
Ben and I removed and replaced the battery in his car today
AND we did it all by ourselves!!
I was frankly amazed by our skills.
We did have a few moments where we had fear of getting zapped.
After you place the new battery in and anchor it, you have to attach the leads/wires.
Positive first
than negative.
The catch....
Once the positive is attached you have to be careful attaching the negative
it wants to arc and sizzle as it completes the circle.
You have to put it on quickly and accurately.
I made Ben do that part.
I told him his heart was younger and he could handle a little zap better than my old body.
I said just do it with authority, no hesitation.
So as he went to attach the lead I backed away.
He looks at me with a horrified smirk and says
"Really, your backing up"
I told him I was giving him space.
LOL.
We laughed for a lot of minutes before he really attempted to hook it up.
NO spark no arc, just a little sizzle sound.
Tighten bolts.
Car starts.
We are obviously proud of ourselves.

Jipped
Brooklyn and I were trying to make a dinner choice the other night.
It was just her and I as the guys are on a man trip
We decided on Panda Express.
We LOVE Chinese food.
Plus you get the bonus of have a Fortune Cookie.
We both enjoyed our dinner while watching Secretariat
then decided it was time for the Fortune Cookie.
I love reading the Fortunes in these cookies.
It has always been a fun thing for me.
Once upon a time, in High School,
my friend Kathie and I went to the Grocery Store
and bought a WHOLE bag of them.
We cracked every one looking for great fortunes.
So with anticipation I cracked open my Cookie
to see the great fortune awaiting me...
Nothing!!
It was empty.
I was totally jipped!
What good is the cookie with no little paper predicting your future inside?
NO good is what it is.

Nostalgia
Today I saw This Video and it made me cry!
Not because the video is sad in any way
But because it made me miss my babies!
I love all the phases my kids have gone through.
Infants, toddlers, little children, preteens, teens and even Bailee as an adult.
What fun each of these stages has been and continues to be.
But watching this made me realize how fast time is moving
and how much I miss those days when my children were babies.
I look forward to the next stages;
more dating stories, adventures, love stories, broken hearts, mission, marriages and grandchildren.
I'm sure it will all happen faster than I can even blink.
But for a minute I am going to feel nostalgic for the baby years gone by.

Road Rage
A few months ago I made myself a personal goal.
No More Road Rage.
I believe an explanation might be necessary..
I don't have road rage to the extent where I drive crazily just to make the other drivers aware of their stupidity or that they have irritated me.
I don't use vulgar hand gestures.
No, I just raise my voice in anger and complaining inside my own car.
Sometimes I raise my hands up in frustration.
Really all of this is futile because the only people hearing my anger are those innocent ones in my car.
So I decided to try really hard to not yell and complain about the other drivers.
I have be doing so so GOOD!
Until Wednesday.
I was driving through the river bottoms heading east.
Being the forward thinking aware driver I am.. :)
I noticed quite a bit ahead a car pulling out of the right shoulder into traffic going VERY slow.
VERY VERY slow.
I merge into the left lane as well as the car ahead of me as to avoid having to almost stop behind this very slow merging driver.
We are traveling at a speed of 50 mph or so.
As we get near to overtaking this car, I will now have to call idiot.
He/she merges into the left lane, cutting us off, still going very very slow and causes the car in front of me and I to have to brake to almost a stop.
I meanwhile am fearing the guy racing up my backside will not stop.
You know what I'm talking about, the look your giving in your review mirror as you see the car behind you speeding up rapidly with no signs of slowing to avoid rear ending you.
I digress...
Anyway this then very slow driver immediately slows even farther and flips a U turn!!
Without even using the suicide lane!!! Are you kidding me?! (suicide lane is what my husband refers to as the middle yellow turn lane)
I will now openly admit...
I succumbed to road rage!!
I will however say, I was alone in the car so know one else suffered the effects.
But, I was so mad after, because I had been doing so good at not getting angry while driving.
And this episode brought my road rage right out.
~sigh~
Now I have to start again.
Really it would be so much easier if people used the whole of their brain while driving a moving vehicle.
Not the half that is not busy texting, looking at the sights, putting on their make up, rooting in their purse or whatever causes their distracted driving.
The up side....
as my husband always jokingly says...Job Security.

The Hunger Games
Yesterday I was sitting in the car waiting for the kids to come out.
I had about 30 minutes to wait.
BOREDOM!!
Then I glance over at the passenger side door and see a book.
??? I think maybe something to take up time.
It was The Hunger Games. (Brooklyn has been reading it.)
I begin to read...
As I stated on facebook this morning,
I don't think I'm going to be bored for a while.
How many books are there? Three?
This can keep me busy for five days for sure!!!
Why?!?! Have I waited so long to read them?
Last night Brooklyn saw me reading and said,
"Hey I am reading that."
I of course replied...
"Not anymore!"
I told her she could wait for me to finish then I would give it back.
It will only take me a day or two depending on my other duties to finish it.
She has been reading for weeks. I am so not waiting for her to finish.
I'm thinking she will have it back in her possession by morning.
Happy Reading...
