Good Intentions

My good intentions prompted me to make it a goal to post on my blog every day.
I even went so far as to challenge myself to put a picture of the day up,
hoping this would help me stick to my goal.
Failure, utter failure.
I just let the run and run part of life interfere with my good intentions.

Don't we all do this?
We make a plan of some sort...
Things we're going to accomplish.
People we are going to serve more diligently.
Places we're going to go.
Goals to accomplish.
And something, someone or whatever interferes with our good intentions.

My big question-dilemma...
How to keep things from distracting me?

Something to work on...Focus, Focus Focus!!
And never give up, just pick myself up and start again.

On a side note, another good intention I have...
Drop some of this weight.
I lose a few pounds..gain a few pounds.
I really need to keep on the losing part..
Or at least lose more than I gain so as eventually I am down more.
So in keeping with this I am always on the lookout for healthy recipes.

My sister gave me a great one for really low fat Baking Soda Biscuits.
"Angel Biscuits"
They are pictured below...

May I say "They are greeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaat!"
For any of you Weight Watcher friends reading, only 1.5 points each.
Super easy from start to finish 25 minutes.

It's A Sign

A Sign of Spring!!
Thursday I was pulling out all the dead flora and fauna
from last year.
These Tulips are what I found sleeping beneath.
I was soooo thrilled.
I also found this....

Yup, Daffodils.
They are much farther along than the Tulips.
Either way, I am stoked.

It means that spring is on it's way.
I can't wait to mow, edge, trim
and make my yard beautiful.
To look around me and see green.
I love spring!!

Just remind me I said this around
mid July...
when I complain
about having to mow, edge and trim twice a week.

BOXES

I pretty much loath valentine box making.
I am not crafty at ALL!
ALL of my kids had to make a box this year.
Seriously...
I mean we're talking High School.
(sigh)
Both my teens had parties in a classes and had to make a box and bring Valentines.
I told them they were on their own.
Ben went simple.
The little white generic box..
HIS!
lol.
It's a travel cereal box. ;)
Bailee's I didn't get a picture of.
HUGE
Covered with pictures of drama stuff
and shows she has been in.
Cute but not done till this post was finished.
Brooklyn came up with the crayon box.
It was easy.
Her idea, which I like.
All in all glad it's over.
We won't win any prizes
but all that matters is that's its finished.

Snail Mail ~ Email

( Pic of the day)
Mail, Mail, and more Mail!
Our lives seem to revolve around the mail.
Letters in the mail
email in boxes
all checked daily.
Sometime in January...
The days all run together...
Bailee auditioned at UTA.
A 3 day workshop put on by
the Utah Theatre Association.
Each high school got to choose 2-4 students
to audition for all the Theatre Department Heads
from all the colleges in Utah,
some other western states and more.
Depending on how well you did
you may or may not
get an invite to audition for their specific program.
You will be notified by mail, email or phone.
We have heard from:
University of Utah
BYU
Snow College
Weber State College
Dixie State College
Utah Valley University
The College of Western Wyoming
and
AMDA.
(Conservatory for performing arts in NYC)
Now....
Auditions
Resumes
Head shots
Admission Applications
Essays
Letters of Recommendation
etc. etc. etc.
The poor girl has an audition a week
except for Valentines weekend.
BYU was the first and most stressful
then they all line up after that.
The final one being March 13th
for AMDA.
Then we wait and watch the mail AGAIN!!
For acceptances, scholarship offers or
the all time favorite...
Thank you for your time we're just not interested.
Then it will be decision time..
Where will she go?
What will the choices be?
Hopefully this question will be answered..
By March 31st.
Then the hunt for housing will begin.
Will it ever end?

"Then" and "Now"

Benjamin Lincoln Paxman
is
16 years old today!!

He came into our lives
a Bouncing Baby Boy!
Look at him way back when...
He was such a blond cutie. ;-)
Who loved and still loves
anything fishing, camping and hanging with dad.
Here he is flying on his flyswatter!
Bailee got the broom and he needed something.
This is what he found.
Love his "Scary Face"

Today!!
(also pic of the day)
Some girl is ganna be lucky to date this stud!
He knows all the great ways to treat a date.
Bailee and I have been teaching him
for a year.
He celebrated by pigging out on meat
at
Rodizios Brazilian Grill.
We Love you Ben!!

Pic a Day

My basement remodel project.
I follow Nie and You.
A fun blog with just pictures.
One taken each day.
Someone else I know decided to take one picture a day
a photo journal I guess.
I like the idea.
So I am going to take one picture every day
and post it here.
It may or may not be relevant to my blog post.
I may take a picture of the dirt
but post about the sky.
You get what I'm saying.
You might have to read the regular post
and the Pic of the day will be at the bottom.
Maybe the pic of the day will be the post.
Maybe I'll have pictures of an event
that are NOT the picture of the day.
The pic of the day
will be something I take THAT day
because it interested me.
I don't know.
It will all depend on my time and mood. ;)
I do know I'm looking forward to what my lens may find.
Today it found my basement
in all its REMODEL glory.
May it be finished soon.
p.s. If you haven't seen yesterdays post check it out and check out Stakerz Exposed.
